Tim’s role for Msheireb included being their ‘Architectural Language Advisor', guiding the language of architecture and urban spaces of the project towards a new Qatari vernacular and making connections between the Qatar’s Past and its Future.
The new architectural language builds on traditional characteristics of simplicity, solidity and passive low energy design using twenty-first century technology. As well as creating pedestrian-friendly spaces for the city, the aim is to encourage Qatari families back to dwell in the city centre.
