Heather Macey

Heather was trained in London and joined Makower Architects as a Director in July 2022. Since joining the practice she has led a range of high profile international cultural masterplans, a number of large scale residential and office projects in London and in the Middle East. Heather leads the practice’s Research & Development programme, and the Hidden Homeless initiative, and is a founding member of Architects Aware, a London based think tank dedicated to addressing the homeless crisis. Heather also runs the Design Think Tank Module at the London School of Architecture.
Prior to joining the practice, she led the residential and mixed-use studio at McAslan + Partners, where she managed a number of international mixed-use schemes and important cultural and heritage projects, including the Burrell Collection, Millbank Tower & Lillie Square masterplan. This range of complex and demanding projects has provided Heather with wide-ranging experience, with a particular specialism working in sensitive heritage and planning contexts.
